===== Move ===== A Move allows an [[entity|entity]] to change positions within [[scenario|scenarios]]. In [[combat|combat]] or [[interaction|interaction]], an entity may Move once at any time after the [[Draw Phase|Draw Phase]] and before the [[Discard Phase|Discard Phase]] (or, in other words, at any time during the [[Strategy Phase|Strategy Phase]] or [[Action Phase|Action Phase]]). [[Exploration|Exploration]] scenarios work differently. In [[travel|travel]] scenarios, all PCs move together at the end of the round, followed by any [[Challenges|Challenges]]. In other exploration scenarios, PCs may Move at any time during their turns or any of their allies' turns, but still only once per round, while Challenges Move at any time during their turns (if able). Normal movement generally consists of land-based traversal such as walking or running, as well as swimming. Hard [[section|section]] borders can prevent movement in combat, while [[Obstacle|Obstacles]] block normal traversal in exploration. Special movement types, such as [[Fly|Fly]], [[Phase|Phase]], and [[Teleport|Teleport]] may bypass some of these restrictions depending on the terrain or type of Obstacle. An entity's base Move speed is 1, meaning the entity can Move from one section, [[region|region]], or [[position|position]] to an adjacent one. Many NPCs have higher base speeds, which will be listed on their cards, and PCs can improve their speed using [[mount|Mounts]] or other [[Gear|Gear]] and effects. Higher speeds allow continued movement between locations based on the value. For instance, an [[Adversary|Adversary]] with Move 3 can cross three section borders in a single Move. Some Move entries in combat will have a [[Height|Height]] entry following it in parentheses, such as Move 1 (Height 2). In these cases, the entity can freely cross section borders with a Height value equal to or less than the listed value, whether moving upward or downward. An entity may Move across any section border with a Height value if it is in a downward direction. Doing so without a Height entry or other special effect will result in falling damage. See [[Height|Height]] for more information on falling. Many effects allow an entity to force another entity to Move. In these cases, use the explicitly-provided Move range, type, any Height values, etc, rather than the moving entity's actual speed or other movement-related abilities. The [[Player's Guide Appendix A|Immobilized]] condition prevents an entity from performing most Moves.
